As J.J. Redick releases a free throw, players fight for position for the rebound. Of course, there was no rebound. See how the students have their backs turned to him? In a cheer sheet handed out before the game, fans were instructed to "in no way acknowledge the presence of JJ Redick." They were also supposed to turn their backs to him, hold their fingers over their lips, and be absolutely silent during his free throws. This was owing to a comment he made about being more, not less, comfortable shooting free throws with crowd noise. Of course, despite these admonitions the crowd couldn't help booing him when he was introduced, and only a few students got the memo about the free throw silent treatment. |
